Centered around the inspiring theme, “Ensuring Safety, Advancing Science: Bridging to the Future with NAMs” the congress aims to explore the transformative impact of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) in ensuring safety, promoting innovation, and shaping the future of toxicology.

When: 29 June - 2 July 2026

Where: Maastricht

The 23rd International Congress of the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV 2026) will take place in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Maastricht from June 29 to July 2, 2026. Centered around the inspiring theme, “Ensuring Safety, Advancing Science: Bridging to the Future with NAMs”, the congress aims to explore the transformative impact of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) in ensuring safety, promoting innovation, and shaping the future of toxicology.

The congress will kick off with a pre-congress workshop designed to provide practical insights and foster collaboration across disciplines.

Attendees can expect a robust scientific program featuring cutting-edge research, keynote lectures from leading experts, and dynamic discussions that emphasise the importance of bridging sectors, technologies, and nations to advance non-animal approaches in science.

Importantly, the programme will also feature a dedicated session on in silico toxicology, highlighting the growing role of computational modelling and simulation in advancing next-generation safety assessment. In addition, the congress will host the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro and the Virtual Physiological Human Society, reinforcing collaboration between the in vitro and in silico communities.

In keeping with Maastricht’s reputation as a hub of connectivity and collaboration, the congress will also include industry-sponsored sessions, lunch-and-learn events, and networking opportunities, fostering a spirit of partnership among academia, regulatory bodies, and industry. The post-congress workshops will offer further opportunities to delve deeper into practical applications of NAMs, equipping participants with knowledge and tools to implement innovations in their respective fields.

The picturesque setting of Maastricht, with its iconic bridges symbolising connection, reflects the congress’s mission to build bridges between scientific disciplines, stakeholders, and societal needs.
