ELIXIR 3DBioinfo 2026
The aim of 3DBioinfo 2026 is to bring together structural bioinformatics researchers from two communities, 3D-BioInfo and 3DSIG, for networking and to exchange ideas on the workflows and resources needed to exploit the transformative new developments in the data and methods.

The meeting will be held from 25th November (12:00 pm) to 27th November (2:00 pm). This is a joint event between the 3D-BioInfo ELIXIR Community and the 3DSIG COSI from ISCB, locally organised by the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The first day of the meeting, from lunchtime on November 25th to lunchtime on November 27th, has been organised as part of the annual Face to Face (F2F) meeting of the 3D-BioInfo Community. This part of the meeting is open for all to attend, but ELIXIR members (i.e. in institutes recognised by the ELIXIR node in their country) do not have to pay for that day, which is translated into a fee discount in the event registration. After the F2F meeting, 3D-Bioinfo collaborates with 3DSIG to extend the meeting’s scientific content until lunchtime on November 27th.
About the Conference
Structural bioinformatics is undergoing a fast transformation with major breakthroughs from experimental methods such as cryo-electron microscopy to disruptive and transformative new approaches in computational prediction methods based on AI and machine learning.
It aims to bring together structural bioinformatics researchers from two communities, 3D-BioInfo and 3DSIG, for networking and to exchange ideas on the workflows and resources needed to exploit the transformative new developments in the data and methods. You will learn about devising strategies for integrating predicted data and benchmarking the prediction tools.
The 3DSIG ISCB (International Society for Computational Biology) Community in Structural Bioinformatics covers the same broad research themes as 3D-BioInfo and is a Community of Scientific Interest (COSI) within the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB). It hosts a scientific track within the ISCB’s annual conference and organises webinars, some of which are joint with 3D-BioInfo.
The ELIXIR Community brings together researchers working in a range of bioinformatics and computational themes and is supporting infrastructure developments, tools and resources across the country.
The event is co-funded by ELIXIR.
