Call for Applications – VPH Young Scientists Committee (2027-2028)
The call for applications for the new VPH Young Scientists Committee is now open! We are seeking motivated early-career researchers in in silico medicine who are eager to actively contribute to and shape the VPH community.
The VPH Young Scientists Committee (YSC) represents the VPH young scientists community and actively contributes to its growth and visibility by:
- Promoting the VPH community and supporting the career development of young scientists
- Highlighting excellence within VPH by recognising and awarding student contributions
- Fostering scientific interaction between junior and senior members of the community
- Encouraging collaborations and mentoring activities among VPH students
- Promoting mobility and exchange opportunities within the VPH network
To achieve these goals, the Committee contributes to the organisation a range of activities, including:
- VPH YSC webinar series
- VPH summer schools
- Mentoring events
- Dissemination and outreach initiatives towards the larger young scientists community and external audiences

By joining the VPH Young Scientists Committee, you will have the opportunity to actively engage with the VPH community, expand your professional network, and develop new organisational and communication skills.
As a member, you will represent the voice of young scientists, contribute to ongoing initiatives, such as webinars’ organisation, and help shape and implement new activities. This experience will strengthen your CV and connect you with both early-career and senior researchers across the VPH community.
Mandate and Rules
- Each YSC is appointed for a term of two years
- Each member may serve for a maximum of two consecutive mandates
Who can apply?
- Master’s students working on their thesis
- PhD candidates
- Postdoctoral researchers up to two years after PhD graduation
All applicants must have an active VPH membership at the time of submission. Members must have a VPH membership in good standing for the whole duration of the mandate.
Application Requirements
Please send the following materials to this e-mail:
- Proof of VPH membership (membership code copied from your personal area)
- Motivation letter (max 1000 characters, including spaces), describing your motivations to join and how you intend to represent the VPH young scientists community (e.g. events, outreach, social media, engagement activities)
- 1 hands-on proposal to be realised at the VPH Summer School
- 1 Webinar proposal including:
- Title
- Topic description (max 500 characters)
- Suggested guests/speakers
Deadline for submission: 15 July 2026
The new Young Scientists Committee will be officially presented at the General Assembly during the next VPH Conference in Milan (1-4 September 2026).
