Meet the new Young Scientists Committee (2027-2028)

The VPH 2026 Conference brought together some of the world’s leading experts in in silico medicine, and also marked an important moment for the future of the VPH community.

During the closing ceremony of the VPH 2026 Conference held at Politecnico di Milano, VPH announced the new composition of its Young Scientists Committee (YSC). The new Committee will begin its two-year mandate in January 2027, continuing until December 2028.

The new members are:

• Alessandro Mastrofini (University of Rome Tor Vergata)
• Benedetta Grossi (Politecnico di Milano)
• Juntong Lai (University of Sheffield), second term
• Laura Lafuente Gracia (KU Leuven)
• Luca Bontempi (Erasmus MC/TU Delft), second term
• Mariia Myshkina (Humboldt-Universität Berlin)
• Martina Clerici (Politecnico di Milano)
• Shrivatsa Hegde (KU Leuven)
• Simao Castro (University College Dublin)
• Stephen Creamer (University of Auckland), second term
• Sumanta Laha (Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon)
• Tu-Ky Ly (University of Amsterdam)
• Ubadah Tanveer (TU Delft)

With 13 members, including three returning for a second term, this is the largest Young Scientists Committee in VPH’s history.

The new Committee will work on a broad range of activities aimed at strengthening the VPH young scientists community, providing new opportunities for engagement and support, and fostering continuous exchange and representation of early-career researchers across the field.

The new mandate marks another step in VPH’s commitment to creating a strong, connected, and active community for the next generation of scientists in in silico medicine.
