Europe’s Virtual Human Twin Initiative: an introduction for cancer scientists and clinicians
When: 5 June 2026 | 12:00 - 13:00 CEST
In 2023, the European Commission launched the Virtual Human Twin (VHT) initiative – a landmark effort to develop patient-specific digital representations capable of guiding diagnosis, treatment, and prevention across Europe.
VPH – the Society for In Silico Medicine has been at the heart of this effort from the start. We coordinated the EDITH CSA project, which united the VHT ecosystem and produced the VHT roadmap. We are now involved in the building of the VHT Advanced Simulation Platform, where we lead the User Group and the activities that connect the platform to its future users.
In this webinar, we bring you up to speed on the current state of the VHT initiative – spanning research, infrastructure, ecosystem development, and clinical and regulatory progress. As members of the platform consortium, we also share the latest on its development timeline and how you can get involved.
This webinar is designed for researchers, clinicians, innovators, and stakeholders who:
– work in cancer research or clinical oncology and want to make better use of data
– are interested in AI and computational modelling, but are unsure where to start
– are exploring the HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-01 call and would like to better understand the Virtual Human Twin (VHT) landscape
– want to connect with the community shaping the European VHT ecosystem.
The recordings of the webinar are available below, and below you can also download the slides used during the presentation:
