VPH at the 2025 MDIC Summit

On 5 November 2025, our Director, Prof. Liesbet Geris, attended the MDIC Computational Modeling & Simulation Symposium in College Park, MD, a key gathering for advancing the use of computer modelling & simulation (CM&S) and accelerating medical innovation.

The event brought together leaders from across the MedTech ecosystem, including regulators, industry, and researchers, to explore how validated real-world data and digital evidence can support regulatory submissions and strengthen evidence generation for medical technologies.

Prof Geris and Prof. Alex Frangi (University of Manchester) co-moderated the panel discussion “Bridging Philosophy, Science and Practice: The Credibility of In Silico Evidence” which explored how computational modelling and simulation are revolutionising the medical device lifecycle. The session delved into the credibility of in silico evidence from scientific, philosophical, and practical perspectives, highlighting the mindset shifts and international initiatives driving this transformation.

Liesbet’s participation provided an excellent opportunity to connect our society with the broader healthcare and regulatory community, reinforcing our mission to advance in silico approaches and foster collaborations that make healthcare innovation safer, faster, and more impactful.
