The Project
DT4PH is a Belgian research project funded by BOSA – Belgian Federal Department of Policy & Support. The programme includes five proof-of-concept projects and also offers an educational curriculum, ecosystem expansion, and a translational pathway. This project will contribute to a more sustainable, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare system, while also strengthening Belgium’s position as a leader in digital healthcare within the EU.
Our role in the project
Within the DT4PH project, VPH leads activities on dissemination, communication, and stakeholder engagement to maximise the project’s visibility and impact. We work to connect researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers, fostering collaboration and awareness of the project’s goals and outcomes. In parallel, VPH curates and collates educational materials tailored for students, R&D professionals, and experts in medical product development, supporting knowledge sharing and capacity building in the growing field of digital twins for public health.
Outcomes
5 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects ranging from research-intensive projects to regulatory science for a wide range of end users:
- Data collection for effective and safe use of medicines in paediatric and poly-pharmacological patients.
- Mechanical ventilation and nutritional support for ICU patients
- Osteoarthritis – validatio of personalized models based on existing cohort data and the start of in silico clinical studies.
