The Project

dealii-X is an ambitious European initiative designed to bring the next generation of digital twin applications to the exascale. Building on existing pre-exascale simulations of the brain, heart, lungs, liver, and mechanobiology, the project is developing an integrated computational framework that leverages the power of high-performance computing to simulate complex biological processes in real time. By combining advanced multiphysics modelling with cutting-edge HPC technologies, dealii-X is paving the way for highly detailed, patient-specific digital twins that will revolutionise personalised medicine and biomedical research.

Our role in the project

As a core partner, VPH leads the project’s Communication and Dissemination activities to ensure that its impact extends far beyond the research community. We promote dealii-X and its breakthroughs across the digital health ecosystem, engage diverse audiences from academia and industry, and support the uptake of project results through targeted dissemination and exploitation actions. VPH also drives capacity building by organising training events, summer schools, and workshops, while fostering collaboration with major European initiatives such as EuroHPC, VHT, and NextGenerationEU’s iNEST Spoke 9 to maximise long-term impact.
