KCCM 2027 – Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine

The 2027 Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine will explore approaches to developing and improving healthcare digital twins, leveraging the emerging European VHT infrastructure to accelerate computational medicine research and its clinical application.

When: 22–25 June 2027

Where: Kraków, Poland

In 2022-2025, a systematic approach to computational medicine pursued by the EU EDITH Project resulted in a holistic idea of virtual human twin (VHT) as an integrated environment enabling multi-scale, multi-temporal and multi-disciplinary representation of quantitative human physiology and pathology. The European Commission decided to support practical implementation of the EDITH Roadmap as the European VHT initiative.

The main goal of the Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine in 2027 is to discuss different approaches for developing new and enhancing existing digital twins in healthcare (DTH), so it would be possible to profit from the emerging European VHT infrastructure to speed up research in computational medicine and the practical use of their results.

We invite modelers, clinical researchers, data stewards and curators, infrastructure experts, patient advocacy organisations, experts in the areas of intellectual, ethical, legal and social issues, as well as innovative companies to present their solutions. The Conference will offer an excellent opportunity to foster greater interaction between communities working in these fields.

The conference will be the final showcase of the Teaming for Excellence project (2019-2027), which established the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine, highlighting the main results and sustainability within the ecosystem in Krakow and in Europe.

Conference topics include
– Mathematical medical models of organs and diseases
– Models and methods in computational neuroscience
– Modelling structure and functions of human microbiome
– Methods of acquisition, storage and retrieval of information in medicine
– Medical data management and processing
– Machine learning and AI models for healthcare
