Final Call for Input on the AI & Virtual Human Twins Joint Statement
The HPP Thematic Network on "Building Responsible Ecosystem Solutions: AI and Virtual Human Twins in Healthcare" is entering its final phase and invites stakeholders to contribute their feedback to the draft Joint Statement.
Following collaborative writing sessions held on 7 July and 25 August 2026, network members spent September refining the draft, drawing on insights from previous thematic webinars and discussions with related networks and initiatives.
The statement covers what emerged across the writing sessions: trust and transparency in AI systems, education and training of the healthcare workforce, meaningful patient and public involvement, and governance frameworks for the responsible deployment of AI and Virtual Human Twins in care.
The draft is now open for comments until 30 October 2026.
Interested stakeholders can register to access the draft and share their feedback. The writing group will reconvene online on 5 November 2026 to consolidate comments and finalise the text before it is submitted to the wider Health Policy Platform (HPP) and the European Commission for review. Participants will subsequently be invited to endorse the statement.
